Bringing you this rare 1970 Longines Flagship ref. 4142 in superb and original condition! There’s so much things to love about this watch, starting from the 70s squared case design, to its brushed finishing on the dial, makes the watch just full of charm. The Flagship line was introduced in 1957,  and it soon became one of the most iconic line of the Longines collection. The Flagship symbolizes the brand’s commitment in shaping a reliable watch, and combining sophistication in its aesthetics. The squared case shape was introduced in the 1970s which then became a hallmark for watch designs of the era.
This watch being from 1970 makes it an early reference adapting the iconic squared shape case which was popular of the era. Being a squared shape case, it portrays the illusion that the watch wears larger on the wrist than what the specification suggests, although this watch would surely fit on anyone’s wrist underneath a cufflink on a special occasion date night.
Condition report:
The watch itself is in superb condition, with the gold filled case still wearing thick, the original brushed dial clean, and the original crown shows minimal wear still retaining the Longines logo. The watch has an aftermarket leather strap that is still in very good condition. The watch has been professionally serviced and is now keeping excellent time showing 0.2ms on the timegrapher, with a +- 2 days power reserve.
