The nickname came not from marketing, but from legend.

Bruce Lee, philosopher, martial artist, and symbol of discipline, was photographed wearing a Seiko 6139-6010 during the final years of his life. He didn’t choose it for status. He chose it because it matched his philosophy: efficiency, strength, and purpose. The watch we have here is an early blue dial version having the desirable “Water 70m Proof” which in later years, Seiko got rid of this text. This makes the early “Proof” dials desirable amongst vintage Seiko collectors, as it was also the model Bruce Lee wore as his personal watch. Today, the Seiko 6139-6010 Blue “Bruce Lee” Water 70m Proof stands as a symbol of a turning point, when Japanese watchmaking challenged the old world and won, not with luxury, but with innovation.

Condition Report:

This watch is in overall good condition. The original dial is showing minor signs of wear with the blue sunburst dial looking stunning. The “water” text appears to had been re-touched in the past due to fading, although the rest of the fonts are all still in original condition. The tritium lume are all original and still intact, on the dial and the hands. It has developed a nice patina and turned to a creamy colour. The case had been lightly polished in the past and is still nice and sharp. There is a name engraved of the previous wearer at the caseback. The watch comes with a replacement period correct look bracelet in NOS condition. The watch had been fully serviced and overhauled and is now keeping great time.
