The “6139” reference is a very significant reference in Seiko’s line-up being one of the first automatic chronograph produced in Japan. Introduced in 1969, the 6139 was a part of a global race to produce the first automatic chronograph movement with Seiko achieving this milestone alongside other watch manufacturers particularly from Switzerland. The 6139 is a very sought after reference amongst watch collectors worldwide, known for its robust design and integrated chronograph function.
This particular “helmet” variant often referred to as the 6139-7100 offers a very distinctive case that resembles the shape of a helmet. Alongside its helmet shaped case, the watch also features a white dial, and a day and date feature. All together, the 6139-7100 is a rare reference that is highly sought after over discerning collectors, especially one that can appreciate the appeal of one of the first watches with an automatic chronograph movement.

Condition report:
This Seiko 6139-7100 is in overall excellent condition, and recently just had its movement fully overhauled and cleaned during its service. The watch is now keeping accurate time, and we are able to provide you pictures, videos, and result of this particular watch during its recent big service. The dial is in beautiful untouched original condition, with a little bit of fading in the end of the “automatic chronograph” text. The hands and lume are all original and un-touched with the lume still all intact and turning into a creamy brown hue. The case had been lightly polished in the past but still retains very sharp edges throughout. The bracelet is factory original and still in good condition. Overall the watch is in excellent “collector’s grade” condition and is ready to be enjoyed for many more decades to come.
