The Omega Seamaster ref. 2767-6 SC represents an important chapter in the evolution of Omega’s most enduring collection. Introduced in 1953, the reference marked the arrival of the second generation Seamaster, retaining the elegant proportions of its predecessor while introducing a new snap-on case construction that would define many Seamasters throughout the decade.
This particular example is presented in a beautifully aged gold-capped case, constructing a thicker layer of gold than a normal gold plating method. Even after more than 70 years, the case still retains its rich golden tone.
The naturally aged original silver dial and faceted dagger hour markers is a rarity, considering the amount of re-dials and franken watches that exists in the market today. The dial has developed an honest, even patina over time.
Powering the watch is the celebrated Omega Calibre 354, one of the finest examples of Omega’s legendary bumper automatic movements. Produced during the early 1950s, the Cal. 354 features a semi-rotor that “bumps” against springs as it winds the mainspring, creating a distinctive feel on the wrist that modern full-rotor automatics simply cannot replicate.

• Dial: The original dial had aged honestly after 70 years. There is a noticeable mark present below the “seamaster” text.
• Lume: The original radium lume on the dial had turned to a dark grey color.
• Hands: Original hands.
• Case: The case had seen some polishing throught the years, but the gold capped still presents thickly, and the Omega “beefy lugs” are all even & thick. Some corotions present on the back of the case housing the movement.
• Crown: Original omega signed.
• Bezel: Good and intact.
• Crystal: Unsigned plexi glass crystal.
• Strap/bracelet: Aftermarket leather strap and buckle.
• Movement: The movement had been recently serviced; dismantled, cleaned, oiled, and calibrated. However our watchmaker noted that the beat error is reading a little high. This is due to wear in the original hairspring. As a result, when the watch has not been used for awhile, it may take a little longer for the power-reserve to fill up. Once it’s running, there is no issue with its time-keeping.
