—————
This example is believed to be a first-year production watch. Although its 49-million serial number is often incorrectly dated to 1986 by older Omega serial charts, collectors now widely recognize this as a known anomaly. In reality, most 49-million series Seamasters were produced in 1993, making them some of the earliest examples of the reference.
One of the standout features of this watch is its beautifully aged original dial. The tritium hour markers have naturally developed a warm creamy patina that contrasts beautifully with the deep blue wave-pattern dial. This natural ageing is highly desirable among collectors, adding warmth and character while preserving the dial’s originality.
The Seamaster Professional became a true icon in 1995 when it appeared on the wrist of Pierce Brosnan’s James Bond in GoldenEye, marking the beginning of Omega’s long-standing partnership with the Bond franchise and earning it the nickname “Bond Seamaster.”
Powering this early example is the Omega Calibre 1109, a COSC-certified automatic movement based on the proven ETA 2892-A2. Used only in the earliest Seamaster Professional 300M models for around two years before being replaced by the Calibre 1120, the Calibre 1109 has become especially desirable among collectors.
