Designed by the young Gerald Genta for the Scandanavian Airline Polar Route, the Polerouter was born from the golden age of the jet era. The Polerouter was designed to be anti-magnetic to withstand high magnetic fields for pilots going through the polar route. Inside is the refined version of the microrotor movement, the cal 215-2 which was slimer compared to its predecessor the cal 215-1.
This particular example carries honest aging. The speckled dial texture blends with time’s natural marks, making the “stardust” effect feel even more organic, like the watch has absorbed decades of stories. The dial appears almost cosmic a dark, speckled surface scattered with tiny flecks that shimmer like a night sky frozen in steel. The case lines remain elegant, the lugs sharp yet softened by wear.
Condition report:
The watch is in overall good condition, with the original dial developing a beautiful “stardust” effect. There is a small peel on the 5 o clock edge of the dial. The hands are all original showing some corrosions from natural aging, and the lume though had turned black is all original, with only the lume dot at 5 o clock missing. The case had been polished but is still retaining its shape nicely. The crown is original wearing the Universal Geneve Logo.
